Trail Talks: Finding Escapism in the Outdoors

“Now when I come to the outdoors, I feel like I experience escaping and being in nature in a different way. It’s much deeper."

Freshta Ibrahimi

Before the sun was even up, we laced up, packed up, and set off for a remote corner of the Lake District, winding along forest trails and rugged peaks for the first in our new Trail Talks series. Thoughtful and inspiring chats with women who live for the outdoors - adventurers, trailblazers, and fresh air seekers with stories worth sharing.

Lise Wortley and Freshta Ibrahimi – two names to remember. They’re breaking boundaries with unique perspectives on their journeys and shining a spotlight on women in the outdoors.

“It gives your mind that little bit of space, where it can actually slow down and help you process things that are going on.”

Lise Wortley

This year’s International Women’s Day theme is Accelerate Action, something that Lise and Freshta take in their stride—celebrating the achievements of women before them and paving the way for those that follow.

Follow along in Lise’s footsteps, with or without a bonnet, at @woman_with_altitude. She’s been a Passenger ambassador for a good while now and we’re stoked to support her mission to climb Mont Blanc in 1800s gear.

Freshta’s story has inspired us all, after we first heard it at Kendal Mountain Festival. Give her a follow at @freshta_ibrahimi and stay tuned for her Everest attempt.

Windswept but happy!

With thanks to the good folk at Canopy & Stars for the epic location.
