Thor featured in last month’s Escape having gained international attention for his epic no-flight round-the-world adventure. 

Intrigued by his story, we caught up with him to find out what inspired him to take on the decade-long challenge and what it taught him along the way.  

2. We Go Outside Too

Based in the West Midlands, We Go Outside Too provides opportunities for intergenerational Black communities to participate in outdoor activities such as walking, nature-based learning and holistic and wellbeing workshops.

Check out a preview of this year’s entries to the Wildlife Photographer of the Year awards, developed and produced by the Natural History Museum, London. 

From nearly 50,000 entries, 100 winners will be unveiled at the Natural History Museum on 13th October.

Hosted by surfing legends Lauren Hill and Dave Rastovich, Waterpeople Podcast explores the diversity in surf culture and tells epic stories from the global ocean community. 

Each episode starts with the question “Tell us about a time or experience after which you were never the same…”. We’re hooked.  

8. Obibini: Empowering Ghanaian Women to Surf

Gender inequality and a cultural fear of drowning stopped the women of Ghana from being allowed to enter the ocean. 

That was until 2017 when Justice Kwofie set about to change that with his Obibini Surf Club, empowering women and girls by granting them rights and introducing them to the epic world of surfing.
